Dr. Kim Jaffee is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Wayne State University. She also serves as the Director for the Master in Social Work (MSW) and Master in Public Health (MPH) Joint Degree Program. She received her Master degree in Social Work from the Ohio State University and her PhD in Social Welfare from the State University of New York at Albany. Dr. Jaffee was an Associate Professor at Syracuse University for ten years prior to moving to Michigan to begin a faculty position at Wayne State University. She practiced social work policy and research for many years in substance abuse and maternal and child health at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the New York State Health Department. Dr. Jaffee’s primary research is in the area of health inequities - specifically, Arab health, mental health, maternal and child health, and sexual/gender minority health. She has taught courses in social welfare policy, health and mental health, macro social work practice, LGBTQ health, and human diversity. She has published on health inequities in a variety of social work, public health, medical, and psychiatric journals.

 

Dr. Stroumsa specializes in LGBTQ Health, Lesbian and Bisexual Women's Health, Transgender Care, Gender-Affirming Hormones, Gender-Affirming Hysterectomies, and General Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Stroumsa received her medical education at the Hebrew University / Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem. Dr. Stroumsa also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in health services research (2017-2019), through the the National Clinician Scholars Program at the University of Michigan. During the fellowship, Dr. Stroumsa gained expertise in the healthcare needs of transgender and non-binary people.
