Earlier this month four members of the Department of Psychiatry Faculty were inducted into the U-M League of Educational Excellence. The League of Educational Excellence was established in 2013. Selection into the U-M League of Educational Excellence recognizes teaching faculty for their extraordinary contributions and commitment towards preparing the next generation of Michigan physicians and scientists. This accolade celebrates faculty dedication to the University’s medical and graduate students, and service to the medical school’s educational mission.
Nominations were sought from chairs and educational leadership and then subject to very careful review by a review committee consisting of education deans. Less than 10 percent of the medical school faculty are in the League of Educational Excellence.
The image above shows our Department Chair Gregory Dalack (center) with the four new inductees and two previous inductees: (from left to right): Michael Jibson, MD (previous inductee); Sara Figueroa, MD; Gus Buchtel, MD; Mary Blazek, MD; David Belmonte, MD; and finally, Rachel Glick, MD who is also a previous inductee.
